Job Description

We are looking for a Principal IP Engineer to join IFS Design Engineering Platform Office team, who has a detailed understanding of complex IPs such as High Speed SerDes, HBM, DDR, UCIe, or PCIe. In this role, the candidate will demonstrate deep technical knowledge and provide support to various customer projects in execution. The candidate will drive circuit pathfinding and custom IP optimization to deliver best in class PPA for critical programs. The candidate will work in conjunction with IFS Business Development, IP Ecosystem, Sourcing, Program Management, Marketing, and Engineering teams to deliver a winning solution.

The primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

IP Audits

  • Reviews IP performance and quality ensuring it conforms to the desired standards and targets and assists in creating quality assurance (QA) flows and verification methodology as required.
  • Run IP documentation reviews and quality improvements ensuring customer user friendliness is enhanced with application notes, white papers, and other supporting collaterals.
  • Support reviews and sign-off of IP validation plans and post-Silicon reports.

IP Planning/Technical Monitoring

  • Monitor IP State-of-Art and run benchmarking for IP portfolio on Intel process technologies.
  • Support internal IP teams and IFS ecosystem teams in defining IP roadmap on Intel Technology Nodes and facilitating IP development as a technical expert.
  • Monitor Portfolio IP development phases including Technical Readiness (TR) evaluation, IP delivery, and post-Silicon validation

RFI/RFQ support

  • Understand customer requirements and propose suitable IP solutions in response to Request-for-Information (RFI)/Request-for-Quote (RFQ)
  • Provide IP technical content in RFQ responses, ensuring all questions is answered, appropriate information is shared, contacts are made, and actions taken in a timely manner.
  • Articulate the technical value of our IP roadmap to technical decision makers in Customer Engagements

Experience and abilities:

  • Prior experience or technical familiarity with interface and connectivity protocols, e.g. SerDes, PCIe, HBM, DDR, UCIe, USB, MIPI, or Ethernet
  • Solid technical background in Analog and Mixed signal IC design and verification.
  • Experience working in a sales support or direct customer facing role for Semiconductor IP, ASIC, SoC design/verification services companies or Foundry would be a plus.
  • Have a strategic perspective on available IP product lines and IP-related services offerings.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Capability to discuss requirements in detail with customer and engineering teams. Technically credible when discussing a broad range of customer challenges.
  • Exercises judgment and discretion to develop solutions, remove obstacles, and define new approaches to overcome challenges.
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and projects with multiple stakeholders from a variety of org

Qualifications


Bachelor’s in electrical, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field plus 12+ years of relevant experience OR a Master's degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field with 8+years of relevant experience. Or a PhD in similar fields with 6+ years of relevant experience

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, California: $186,760.00-$299,166.00
*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience


Working Model


This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
